Lahore High Court Directs Tribunal To Rehear Election Petition Against MPA

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday disposed of a petition seeking disqualification of MPA Masroor Nawaz Jhangvi, directing the election tribunal to rehear the election petition against him.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Mar, 2018 ) :The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday disposed of a petition seeking disqualification of MPA Masroor Nawaz Jhangvi, directing the election tribunal to rehear the election petition against him.
The single bench comprising Justice Atir Mahmood heard the petition filed by Muzaffar Abbas.
The petitioner had submitted that the respondent was elected to the Punjab Assembly after winning the PP-78 Jhang by-election in December 2016.
He submitted that election tribunal dismissed the election petition, filed for disqualification of Masroor Nawaz Jhangvi after declaring it non-maintainable on technical grounds. He contended that the respondent was not eligible to become an MPA.
