A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench on Wednesday extended interim bail of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz in assets beyond means, Saaf Pani and Ramzan Sugar Mills cases till April 25
The bench comprising Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan and Justice Mirza Viqas Rauf heard pre-arrest bail petitions filed by the PML-N leader in the cases.
During the proceedings, a National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) prosecutor told the bench that the bureau had filed a reply in the cases.
However, defence counsel argued that the Bureau had not provided clear copies of the reply.
He submitted that if proper copies were given then we would have submitted our response today. He requested for time, saying that consultation was required with Hamza Shahbaz on the reply filed by the bureau.
The bench, after hearing the arguments, adjourned further hearing till April 25 while extending the interim bail of Hamza Shahbaz in the cases.
It is pertinent to mention here that Hamza Shahbaz was also present during the proceedings, whereas, strict security arrangements were made on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the bench also issued notice to NAB authorities on a plea filed by Hamza Shahbaz against raid on his residence.
