Lahore High Court (LHC) bars arrest of Aliya Hamza in new case till Aug 29

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday restrained authorities from arresting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aliya Hamza in any new case until August 29

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Aug, 2024) The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday restrained authorities from arresting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aliya Hamza in any new case until August 29.

The court further observed that no agency would arrest the PTI leader without its permission.

Justice Ali Baqar Najafi passed the orders while hearing a petition filed by Hamza Malik, the husband of the PTI leader.

During the proceedings, an assistant advocate general of Punjab submitted a report, in response to court orders, and stated that there were currently two cases against Aliya Hamza.

However, a Federal law officer requested more time to present the report regarding the cases against Aliya Hamza, which was granted by the court.

Subsequently, the court adjourned further proceedings until August 29.

The petitioner had approached the court for details of the cases against Aliya Hamza and also sought to restrain the likely shifting of his wife to another province.
