Lala Majeed Shot Dead In Bahawalpur

Lala Majeed, a renowned social leader and owner of a nationwide transport company has been gunned down by unknown armed men in the city, police said.

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Dec, 2018 ) :Lala Majeed, a renowned social leader and owner of a nationwide transport company has been gunned down by unknown armed men in the city, police said.

The police sources said that unknown armed men opened indiscriminate fire at Lala Majeed, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police said that an old dispute might be the cause behind the murder.

Local police lodged a case against the accused and launched investigation into the incident.

According to the postmortem report conducted by the medical team at Bahawal Victoria Hospital, the slain received bullets from very close range which caused his death. The assailants managed to escape from the scene.

Local social and political leader, Imtiaz Hussain Lakhwera said that Lala Majeed was a popular social leader which had played role in serving people. He demanded of the higher police officials to arrest the culprits involved in the murder as soon as possible.
