Law Ministry Making Strenuous Efforts To Upgrade Pakistan Penal Code, National Assembly Told

Ministry of Law and Justice was making strenuous efforts to upgrade/maintain Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) with regard to the amendments made in section 182 of Pakistan Penal Code, Parliamentary Secretary, Maleeka Bukhari told National Assembly on Monday.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Sep, 2018 ) :Ministry of Law and Justice was making strenuous efforts to upgrade/maintain Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) with regard to the amendments made in section 182 of Pakistan Penal Code, Parliamentary Secretary, Maleeka Bukhari told National Assembly on Monday.

Responding to Calling Attention Notice of Ahmed Hussain regarding non up gradation / maintenance of Pakistan Code by the Ministry of Law and Justice with regard to amendment made in section 182 of Pakistan Penal Code, creating problems in the legal matters due to non up gradation of statue book by law book publishers.

She said the issue of amending 182 of PPC was pending for so many years. A total of 34 officers have been recruited for working on up gradation of PPC . Some officials of the ministry were still busy in upgrading the PPC.

Ahmed Hussain said the publishers of law book has not yet upgraded the laws, creating legal problems.There should be a check and balance on publishers.
