Lawmakers discuss law and order situation in Balochistan

Balochistan Home Minister, Saleem Khosa Tuesday said steps were being taken to revamp levies force for restoring peace across the province in view of China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Sep, 2018 ) :Balochistan Home Minister, Saleem Khosa Tuesday said steps were being taken to revamp levies force for restoring peace across the province in view of China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

In session of the provincial assembly, he said law and order situation was being worsened in Balochistan by foreign terrorists.

Deputy Speaker Balochistan Sardar Babar Musakhel chaired the assembly session.

Saleem Khosa said eight billion rupees were allocated for revamping of Levies force to ensure foolproof security at respective areas of province.

He said law and order situation was improved as compare to four years ago and appreciated law enforcement agencies including police, Levies force, Frontier Corps and others for maintaining peace during Muharram-ul Haram in the province.

The Minister said around 1400 CCTV cameras would be installed under Quetta Safe Package which would help improve security system.

Earlier, Member of provincial assembly (MPA) Nasrullah Zeray tabled a motion regarding law and order situation during session of assembly on September 22 which was also approved today.

MPA, Sikandar Advocate said all stakeholders should play their vital role to improve law and order situation and raise Kashmir issue at international level.

He said provincial government would take steps to provide economical assistance to martyrs' relatives in province.

MPA, Asghar Ali Tareen said on point of motion, incumbent government would focus management of security force for restoring peace in the province.

He said vacant post of Levies department would be fulfilled on merit.

MPA, Gohram Bughti said provincial provincial home minister should ensure duty of levies force in respective areas.

Opposition leader, Sana Baloch said the peace was linked to politics, social life and education.

"Justice is important for all communities and peace", he added.

He said provincial government should pay attention for providing education as it ensure peaceful environment.

Sana Baloch said trauma center would be established at district levels, adding that new doctors would be appointed in hospitals to overcome staff shortage.

He also mentioned that 66 percent of children were deprived of food and thousands of children were out of schools in the province.

He said steps would be taken to address such serious issues for betterment of the people.

MPA, Akhtar Hussain said measures should be taken to enhance border security in order to control terrorist activities, adding that there was no data entry of Afghan people at Chaman border. Entry list of Afghan people should ensure at the border, he added.

MPAs including Abdul Khaliq Hazar, Danish Kumar condemned the incident of Killa Saifullah and Pishin and stressed the need of necessary security measures.

The Assembly session was adjourned till September 28.
