PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Augst,2016) : The lawmakers of Khyber Pakthunkhwa Assembly here Tuesday lauded the decision of the Federal Government to raise 29 new wings of civil armed forces to ensure internal security and improve overall border management. The raising of new wings of civil armed forces would not only help improve an overall security situation in the country besides countering terrorism and sabotage activities of the anti-state elements very swiftly. Sardar Aurganzaib Nalota, Parliamentary Leader of PML-N in KP assembly told APP that keeping in view the security threats as we have seen in deadly bombing in Quetta, the raising of new wings of civil armed forces was the need of the hour and the Government has taken a right decision to improve overall border management and ensure internal security.
This would help stop infiltration of illegal immigrants and unwanted elements on borders besides countering movement of anti state elements, he explained. While commenting on the decisions taken during a high-level meeting presided over by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif the other day, Nalota welcomed the formation of a high-level NAP Implementation Committee headed by National Security Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua and termed it a very positive decision of the Government. The successful actions and operations of the Government and law enforcement agencies under National Action Plan (NAP) have isolated terrorists by reducing space for them to reorganize and operate freely, he said.
He said time has come that every segment of the society including politicians, media, civil society organizations, LG representatives, religious scholars etc rise above party politics and support government in its efforts to wipe out terrorism once for all. Rushad Khan MPA also lauded the formation of new wings of civil armed forces and NAP's implementation committee, saying these decisions would help improve overall law and order situation besides further expediting progress on NAP. The meeting also reviewed the existing mechanism to check funding of terrorists and agreed to further increase stringent controls.
To wipe out terrorism, he said, it was also necessary to stop funding to terrorists and ensure effective border management to check and stop movement of illegal immigrants. The nationally agreed NAP, following the tragic Army Public school episode in Peshawar back in December 16, 2014, set a new direction for the nation in the war against terror and immensely helped restore peace across the country, especially in militancy affected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. Khan said NAP has provided a comprehensive framework, strategy and guidelines to the nation and law enforcement agencies to exterminate menace of terrorism, saying the implementation of NAP Implementation Committee headed by National Security Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua would help promote peace besides countering terrorism and monitoring practical measures on NAP on grounds.
