Legislators pay tributes to Shuhada, Ghazis of 1965 war

ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -6th Sept,2016) : Legislators from both treasury and opposition benches on Tuesday paid tributes to the Shuhada and Ghazis of 1965 war who valiantly defeated the nefarious designs of India.

Speaking on a point of order, Shazia Marri of Pakistan Peoples Party said that sacrifices rendered by the armed forces to safeguard the country's frontiers must be acknowledged. Sheikh Salahuddin of MQM said that the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan army would be remembered for ever.

He said that contribution of Pakistan Air force and Pakistan Navy was also appreciable. Sahibzada Tariq Ullah said that sacrifices of the Pakistan army by defending the motherland could not be forgotten.

He also condemned hanging of Jamaat-e-Islami members in Bangladesh and said agreement signed between Pakistan and Bangladesh must be honored. Paying tributes to armed forces, Capt (R) Muhammad Safdar, said, "We solute to the martyred of September 6, 1965." He said wars were imposed on Pakistan in 1948 and 1965.

He said India had attacked Pakistan to divert the attention of world from Kashmir issue at that time. He said services the Pakistan army and jawans for motherland would be remembered for ever. He said Canadian Maulvi use to come on bicycle to Itefaq Foundry Masjid and he should be asked from where he had earned billions of rupees.

He said no one would be allowed to derail the democracy in the country.

Siraj Muhammad Khan said that the way Pakistan army responded to Indian army on September 6 1965 was historical. Fehmida Mirza said that Pakistan Army sacrifices for the motherland would be remembered for ever.

She said it is responsibility of the speaker to act as neutral. The former speaker said that during her tenure she used to give more time to opposition parties. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad said that it was the need of hour that all the constitutional institutions and political forces should come on one platform to take the country forward and make future of coming generations bright.

He said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammed Nawaz Sharif was working to steer the country out of crisis. He said it was the vision of the Prime Minister to provide employment to the youth, shelter to the poor, education opportunities for all and better medical health facilities for the people.

Sheikh Aftab said the present government was highlighting the Kashmir issue on all the international forums. He pointed out that delegations were being sent to various countries for this purpose.

He said law and order situation had significantly improved in the country to a great extent as a result of operation against terrorism. The Minister paid tributes to the martyrs of 1965 war and those who had lost their lives war against terrorism.
