Low Lying Areas Of Muzaffargarh Submerged In Flood Water

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Aug, 2024) Current moon spell caused to increase water level in river Sindh resulted in submerging low lying areas in different parts of the district.

Official source said Tuesday, middle standard flood was witnessed near the place of Head Tunsa Barrage.

Flood relief camps was set up at places namely Stream Abbas Super and Downstream Super buy rescue 1122.

Following ascending water level at river Sindh, evacuation of people and cattle was started rapidly.

DC Munawar Abbas Bukhari paid visited at Head Taunsa Barrage today to review current flood situation.

He also keenly observed migration of local people to safer areas along with cattles and households.

The DC said the district government had devised already the all-out arrangements to cope with emergency- like situation in case emerged out as a result of flash flood.

All of the respective departments were put in high alert, he added.

Meanwhile, in- charge of rescue team, Mohammad Usama speaking to the local media, held that more than 411000 cubic water was passing through the Head Taunsa Barrage barrage regularly.

He said a moderate- level flood was going through the Sindh river of late.

He claimed that all the respective departments were put on high alert to cope with the flood.

He said that rescue teams would be mobilized soon after taking information either from local people or controlling points set up by the district administration.
