Lyariites Protest Against Poor Sanitation And Disrupted Water Supply

Residents of Lyari have registered their strong protest against poor sanitation and non availability of potable water to the area for past several days.

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jan, 2019 ) :Residents of Lyari have registered their strong protest against poor sanitation and non availability of potable water to the area for past several days.

Many of the Lyariites taking exception to the indifference of the concerned officials also staged a sit in front of the central office of Karachi Water and Sewerage board (KWSB), The protestors belonging to Agra Taj Colony, Bahar Colony, Phool Patti Lane, Liaqat Colony, Naya Abad, Khadda Market, Gul Mohamamd Lane, Lassi Para, Mominabad, Baloch Para, Sheedi Village, Baloch Para, Niazi Chowk and areas located in the vicinity of Lyari General Hospital were also joined by Chairman, DMC-South, Malik Mohammad Fayyaz.

Addressing the protestors, the Chairman of Karachi South municipality said, he along with people, was compelled to stage sit in as despite repeated complaints and reminders KWSB officials appeared to be absolute indifferent towards the plight of the masses.

He said lack of capacities and commitment on part of KWSB personnel was the major reason for deteriorating civic services inLyari and several other old city localities of the metropolis.
