ASTORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Dec, 2018 ) :District Magistrate, Muhammad Rasool conducted surprise raids at different shops and trade agencies to check the prices and quality of goods on the directives of Assistant Commissioner Astore.
The instructions were issued after several written and verbal complaints by local people to Assistant Commissioner Astore, Sher Afzal about artificial price hike and sale of substandard items in the markets.
The Magistrate checked the prices and quality of items in several markets and imposed fine on several butchers for selling unhygienic meat.
Some of the shopkeepers were also fined while some were issued final notices for profiteering.
He warned several shopkeepers and directed them to avoid selling goods at excessive prices and maintain the goods prices in accordance with the government issued lists otherwise stern action would be initiated against them.
Local people appreciated the administration forthis action and requested for conducting such raids in future too so the pricesand quality of items remain satisfactory in markets.
