Malakand Division proves power bastion as PTI secures highest 1.155mln votes

Malakand Division has again proved to remain a strong power bastion for Pakistan Tahrik Insaf (PTI) where it secured highest number of 1,155,295 votes (1.155million) votes in 10 National Assembly constituencies during July 25 general elections, paving the way for PTI Chief Imran Khan to form a strong Govt in Centre and KP for next five years (2018-23) period.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jul, 2018 ) :Malakand Division has again proved to remain a strong power bastion for Pakistan Tahrik Insaf (PTI) where it secured highest number of 1,155,295 votes (1.155million) votes in 10 National Assembly Constituencies during July 25 general elections, paving the way for PTI Chief Imran Khan to form a strong Govt in Centre and KP for next five years (2018-23) period.

Except NA-1 Chitral and NA-10 Shangla, PTI has easily won all the eight seats of national assembly from Malakand Division comprising Chitral, Swat, Dir Upper, Dir Lower, Buner, Malakand and Shangla districts, helping PTI to secure two-third majority in Khyber Pakthunkhwa assembly.

PTI is the first political party that will form consecutive government in the province for next five years owing to its better performance in all key sectors besides goal-oriented reforms introduced by it public department during last five years for benefits of general public.

The people of Malakand have again reposed full confidence in the policies and programs of PTI Chief Imran Khan who stood against corruption and status-quo in politics and raised strong voice during his 22 years long and tireless struggle for socio-economic uplift of downtrodden and poor segment of the country.

PTI has clinched all three National Assembly seats in Swat, two in Lower Dir, one each in Upper Dir, Buner and Malakand and lost only two seats in Chitral and Shangla district.

The PTI's MNAs-elect have knocked out strong political heavyweights in Malalakand division including PMLN President Shahbaz Sharif in Swat, PPPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Malakand and Central Ameer of Jumat e Islami, Sirajul Haq in Lower Dir districts.

Like the past, the voters of Malakand division had rejected imported candidates and voted in favour of native candidates in 2018 general elections as they could easily be approached by people for resolution of key social, civic, education, health, economic, unemployment and environmental issues.

PTI has secured highest number of 16,860,675 votes on national assembly seats in the country followed 12,907,190 votes by PMLN, 6899830 by PPPP, 2552012 by MMA and 814145 by ANP in 2018 elections, according to ECP.

In overall KP, PTI has proved all speculations and analysis of political pundits wrong after securing highest number of 2,130,319 votes whereas MMA with 1,125,976 votes stood second, PPPP remained third with 879,806 votes, ANP's get forth position with 803,393 votes and PMLN fifth with 654,460 votes respectively.

In Malakand division, PTI has also secured highest number of 1,155,295 votes whereas MMA stood second with 300,468 votes, PPPP's third with 224,288 votes, ANP get forth position with 211,941 votes and PMLN with 179,967 secured fifth position respectively.

On NA-2 Swat-I, PTI MNA-elect Haider Ali Khan outclassed rival candidates after securing 61687 votes followed by PMLN's Amir Muqam with 41124, MMA's Naveed Iqbal with 18055, PPPP's Amjad Ali Khan with 16108 and ANP's Mumtaz Ahmed with 14618 votes.

Likewise, Salimur Rehman of PTI, who was elected from NA-3 Swat-II, obtained 68,162 votes followed by PMLN President Mian Shahbaz Sharif with 22,756 votes, PPPP's Shahryar Amirzaib 22046 votes and ANP's Abdul Karim 21895 votes.

NA-4 Swat-III was also retained by PTI MNA elect Murad Saeed who secured highest number of 71,600 votes while Salim Khan of ANP stood runner-up with 30975 votes, Qari Mehmood of MMA remained third with 17542 votes, PMLN's Farooz Shah with 14494 votes get forth position and Qamarzaman of PPP with 12328 secured five position respectively.

PTI has clinched the lone NA-5 seat of Dir Upper from where its MNA elect, Shahibzada Sabgatullah Khan secured 66545 votes followed by MMA's Tariqullah Khan 57657 votes, PPPP's Najmuddin Khan 53967 votes, PMLN's Nisar Khan 14462 votes and ANP's 8529 votes.

On NA-6 Dir Lower, PTI MNA-elect Mehbood Khan clinched 63,440 votes followed by 27,774 votes by MMA Asadullah Khan 36,665 votes, ANP's Zahid Khan 30,682 votes and PPPP's Ahmed Hassan Khan with 27774 votes respectively.

PTI MNA elect Basir Khan outclassed political opponents after obtaining 63,017 votes, defeating Jumaat e Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq who bagged 46040 votes, ANP's Nazeer Khan secured 195406 votes, Shahid Ahmed Jan of PPPP with 10064 votes and PMLN's Sobia Shahid pocketed only 1256 votes.

Malakand district has witnessed one-sided electoral battle despite presence of PPP Chairman Bilwal Bhutto Zardari contested on NA-8 against MNA elect Junaid Akbar of PTI as the former has obtained only 43,724 votes while the latter secured 81,310 votes followed by Gul Naseeb of MMA with 31739 votes and ANP's Inamullah Khan managed only 11,406 votes.

Buner district's lone NA-9 seat was also retained by PTI MNA elect Sher Akbar after securing 58,037 votes followed by PMLN's Kamran Khan 38358, ANP's Abdul Rauf 38,015 and MMA's Istiqbal Khan 23354 votes respectively.

However, PTI candidate Abdul Latif with 38481 votes had lost NA-I Chitral where MMA candidate, Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitral with 48616 votes was declared successful. PPPP Salim Khan has clinched 32,635 votes followed by PMLN's Shahzada Iftikharuddin Khan 21016 votes and ANP's Abdul Hussain pocketed only 3613 votes.

The Shangla lone NA-10 seat was clinched by PMLN MNA elect Dr Ebadullah Khan who secured 34070 votes followed by ANP's Saeedur Rehman with 32665 votes, Waqar Ahmed Khan of PTI with 27832 votes, Amir Sultan of MMA with 20800 votes and Hamid Iqbal of PPPP has bagged only 5642 votes.
