Maqbool Butt, Afzal Guru Immortal Heroes Of Kashmir: Shabbir

ISLAMABAD, Feb 7 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Feb, 2017 ) : General Secretary of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in Indian occupied Kashmir terming Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru as immortal heroes of the Kashmir's freedom movement, has said that these martyrs gave a new direction to the freedom struggle.
Accoridng to Kashmir Media Service, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said that people of Kashmir would observe complete shutdown on Feb 9 and 11, which mark the martyrdom anniversaries of these leaders.
"We observe the February 9 and 11 as `Youm-e-Tajdeed-e-Ehad' (Reaffirmation of the pledge) and we are committed to complete the mission of our revered martyrs," he said. Reiterating the demand of returning the mortal remains of both Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru, he said, "India must bear in mind that no law in the world justifies harboring any enmity towards the martyrs and to return the mortal remains of these two martyrs to their families is a moral responsibility of the authorities.
" Paying tributes to Muhammad Afzal Guru, APHC General Secretary said, though India hanged him without informing his family, but the martyrdom immortalized his name".
"Today, each and every child of Kashmir proudly uses the Names of Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru," he said and termed the hanging of Guru as "Murder of law and justice for which the Congress and National Conference are directly responsible".
He said Indian Supreme Court's judgment that Afzal Guru was hanged to satisfy the collective conscience of the nation is a shame to humanity. "Even his family particularly the wife and son were not entitled the right of last meeting. His hanging is an unforgettable tragedy of human history," he remarked.
