ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -19th Sept,2016) : Maryam Nawaz Sharif Monday again urged the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz workers to exercise restraint on the Raiwind march announced by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Sept 30.
Maryam, who has a huge fan base of 2.3 million followers on Twitter, asked the die-hard supporters of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to exercise restraint. "My earnest request to PML-N once again, Raiwind dharna does NOT merit any attention," Maryam said.
"We're followers of NS (Nawaz Sharif) who preaches & practices tolerance," she said. Her tweet follows reports on various news channels about the preparations by PML-N workers, men, youth and elderly who have vowed to protect the private residence of Prime Minister Sharif at Jatti Umra, Raiwind.
The Punjab government spokesperson, Zaeem Qadri in a press conference earlier warned Imran Khan to change the venue of the Raiwind march. "Over our dead bodies," news channels also showed workers of Zaeem Qadri 'jan nisar force' carrying wooden sticks and practicing ways to stop the protesters.
Maryam Nawaz, in her tweet to the workers, said,"Your love for the PM means a world to us but it is also upon us to uphold his philosophy of peace & tolerance." A number of other PML-N leaders, including Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali also in a tweet said "we know how to protect the residence of our leader." However, Maryam insisted in her message of peace; "We'd rather sit & watch them march towards their doom than pander to vandalism which is PTI's forte." Maryam, who boasts 51K(thousand) tweets on her account, said, "Their (PTI's) agenda is anarchy & mayhem which we must not fall prey to." An angry war of words has erupted as the date for the march nears.
Maryam also posted pictures of the Prime Minister's meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry on the sidelines of UN General Assembly, along with pictures of PTI workers pelting stones and Imran Khan addressing. "Prime Minister was right when he said 'apne apne naseeb ki baat hai ....' !!," Maryam said.
