Mayor Karachi Opens Calligraphy Exhibition

Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar inaugurated the Calligraphy and Sculpture Exhibition of artist Anjum Ayaz at Markaz-e-Islami here
Chairman Parks Committee Khurram Farhan, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman, Secretary Arts Council of Pakistan Prof. Aijaz farooqui were also present on this occasion, said a statement on Friday.
The Mayor, later, while talking to media persons said that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) restored the Markaz-e-Islami and now held an exhibition in this hall.
He said that this was the cultural centre of Karachi and now this place has been opened to the public, where exhibitions and seminars will be held.
He urged the youth to take part in healthy and positive activities and directed that cultural programs be held in the cultural centers of the city.
Artist Anjum Ayaz thanked the mayor and senior director sports and recreation of KMC for supporting him and said that he wants to hold such exhibitions at the city roundabouts and parks. He said that his exhibition of art have also been held in 22 countries so far.
