Mayor pays glowing tributes to martyrs of 1965 war

SUKKUR,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -7th Sept,2016) : Mayor of Sukkur, Arslan islam Sheikh has paid glowing tributes to the officers and Jawans of the armed forces of Pakistan for making historic sacrifices to safeguard the country in the 1965 war.

He saluted the spirit of the armed forces and the nation that was the main strength of Pakistan's armed forces in that war. Speaking as a chief guest in a ceremony, held here Wednesday, he stressed the need for building national character on the lines as suggested by the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Zuilfqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed.

Mayor Sukkur said the valiant soldiers of the armed forces set great examples of sacrifice during the 1965 war.

He said, the nation should not forget their sacrifices and should keep alive the spirit of 1965.

He expressed his belief that Pakistani nation especially the youths is capable of carrying out reform in the society. Pakistan has the potential to emerge as a strong and prosperous country after its defence has been made invincible.

Arslan Sheikh said the nation needs to evolve a suitable educational system saying that the current situation in the educational sector was far from being satisfactory. Ali Bux Khan Mahar, Deputy Mayor Sukkur Tariq Chuhan, Fazalullah Mahesar, Professor Asghar Mujahid, Professor Naeem Baloch and others were also addressed on the occasion.
