Members Of The National Commission On The Status Of Women (NCSW) And Provincial Commissions On Status Of Women (PCSWs) Called For Registration Of Women Voters

Members of the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) and Provincial Commissions on Status of Women (PCSWs) Wednesday called for door-to-door registration of women voters before General Elections 2018
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2018 ) :Members of the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) and Provincial Commissions on Status of Women (PCSWs) Wednesday called for door-to-door registration of women voters before General Elections 2018.
The campaign is the need of the hour to ensure better representation of women in the next general elections to be held in 2018, an official of NCSW told APP. She said that the members of NCSW and PCSWs have stressed the need for better coordination and collaborative efforts of the ministry and the commission for women protection and empowerment.
She added that in a recently conducted meeting, members gave their feedback on issues related to women protection and empowerment and quick response mechanism.
They also discussed complaint handling, documentation system and follow up mechanisms followed by the national and provincial commissions, the official said adding that the PCSW members also briefed the meeting about the issues they face due to lack of financial and human resources.
The members were of the opinion that provinces are progressing in terms of women related legislation and its implementation but this progress is not recognised, she said. The members also highlighted the need for the availability of consolidated information on women issues, she added.
