Men File Surprising Number Of Complaints Against Harassment

According to the first quarterly report of 2019, at least 95 persons reached out to the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment at Workplace from across the country.
Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th April, 2019) The cases of violence against women are often reported in the country.
There are a number of institutions and NGOs who raise a voice against violence against women and extend them support. But now men have also started approaching these organisations with harassment complaints.
According to the first quarterly report of 2019, at least 95 persons reached out to the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment at Workplace from across the country.
According to the report, 57 among these 95 complainants were women while 38 were men.
The report further stated that the Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment received 46 applications from the government sector.
Among these were 28 female complainants and 16 male.
Moreover, 51 complaints were filed against harassment in private organisations, including 29 complaints by women and 22 from men.
The report further stated that 26 complaints came from centre, 49 from Punjab, 12 from Sindh, 7 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while 1 complaint was received from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said that 46 out of these 95 complaints have been addressed while 49 others are under progress. The remaining complaints will also be addressed soon.
