MEPCO Task Force Imposes Fine Rs 2.5m On 97 Power Pilferers

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Nov, 2018 ) ::Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) task force alongwith district administration and police launched a crack down againt power pilferers at Shah Sadar Uddin Sub-Division and imposed Rs 2.5 million fine on 97 power pilferers during current month (November).
According to MEPCO spokesperson here on Monday, the task team conducted raids at Pir Adil Feeder and other areas of Shah Sadar Uddin Sub-Division and checked various connections. The teams caught 97 consumers involved in stealing electricity through direct wires on their domestic connections, commercial and tubewell connections.
The team imposed fine of Rs 2.5 millions on the pilferers and also got registered FIRs against 65 power pilferers with concerned police stations.
