Minister Distributes Scholarship Cheques Among Minority Students

Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sandh on Wednesday distributed scholarships, cheques among the 22 talented students of minority community amounting Rs 630,000.
RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2018 ) :Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sandh on Wednesday distributed scholarships, cheques among the 22 talented students of minority community amounting Rs 630,000.
The cheques were distributed in a ceremony held here at Deputy Commissioner office for showing excellent performance. Addressing the ceremony , Sandu said the provincial government was committed to providing maximum facilities to minority students so that they could play more effective role in progress and prosperity of the country.
He said the Punjab government has launched a special programme under which the minority students securing more than 70 percent marks were awarded with scholarships to encourage them. He said a quota has also been allocated for minority students in the vocational educational and training centers operating across the province where they are being imparted quality education, transforming them into skilled workforce in line with the need of international markets.
The 22 students who got scholarship, 6 of them were belonged to Rawalpindi, 9 Jehlum,6 Chakwal and one Gujar Khan. From intermediate section, students from Jehlum including Husnain Nadeem, Raees Mushtaq, Jemaira Gill, Deniel, Haroon Masih; from Chakwal Saman Gill, Aleena Shehbaz, Romana Maryam, Afshaan Gill, Rubaika Aslam and from Goujar Khan Shehrish Manzoor won cash prize worth of Rs 20,000 each.
Likewise, graduation students included from Jehlum Attiya Yaqoob, Adnan khokhar, Aleesha Ishaq ; from Rawalpindi Saba Pervaiz, Saleena, Methew Arif; from Chakwal Shabnum Zulfiqar attained scholarships worth of Rs 30,000 each.
Students from professional studies included Hira Kishwar, Rameesh Chaudry, Meerab Sohail and Narisa Pervaiz from Jehlum secured cash prize worth of Rs 50,000 each. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza,Deputy Director colleges Professor Sher Ahmed Satti and a number of minorities students were also present on the occasion.
