Minister hints at comprehensive industrial policy soon

Provincial Minister for Industries, Trade and Investment Mian Aslam Iqbal said on Wednesday that a comprehensive policy for promoting industries would be announced soon.

Talking to the media persons after listening to citizens' problems at his Camp Office Samanabad, he added that new industrial policy was being finalized speedily and Punjab government had also decided to open one-window operation in Punjab Investment board for helping local and foreign investors.

Under this one-window facility would encourage the local and foreign investors and enhance their confidence in the government.

He said that training programmes of TEVTA (Technical education and Vocational Training Authority) were also being coordinated and revamped.

He said that soft loan programme for the youth, who got training from TEVTA institutions, was also being launched soon.

Earlier, he said that they had dedicated every moment for serving the people selflessly, asserting that purpose of holding up of Khhuli Katchehri (Open Courts) was to know about people's problem directly, therefore, he was holding Open Courts four times in a month.

Resolving people's problem was government's top most priority as welfare and provision of relief to mass was most important part of the 100-day plan of Prime Minister.

On this occasion, the minister directed the relevant quarters to resolve public complaints.

He was of the view that people were faced with numerous problems due to faults in the system and vowed to change this faulty system.

For this purpose, revamping of government departments had already been started which would soon give positive results, he said and added that when people's problem would be solved, they feel themselves as part of the government.

He warned the officers to mend their ways and serve the people with dedication.
