Minorities in Pakistan can celebrate their religious events with freedom: Minister

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -14th nov,2016) : Pakistan is a peace loving country where every citizen without discrimination of religion, race and color has equal rights and its minorities can celebrate their religious events with full freedom.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Barjees Tahir expressed these views while addressing on the occasion of 548th birthday celebration of Baba Guru Nanak at district Nankana, on Monday.

They welcomed all the Sikh Pilgrims coming from all over the world to attend the birthday ceremony and said, "Teachings of Baba Guru Nanak promote love for humanity, peace and religious harmony." Atmosphere of religious harmony and tolerance showed by both Sikhs and Muslims at Nankana were exemplary for the world, they said and added that India was doing negative propaganda against Pakistan but the pilgrims reached here would get the message of peace, love and tolerance.

They said, "Every religion of the world teaches to eliminate hate, extremism and intolerance from society and we should work together for the better service of humanity without any discrimination." A large number of Sikh Pilgrims coming from all over the world participated in the 548th birthday celebration of Baba Guru Nanak.

Chairman Evacuee Trust board Siddiqul Farooq, MPA Ramesh Singh Arrora and others were also present on the occasion.
