MMA Nominates Zahid Durrani For NA-35 By-poll Bannu

Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has nominated Zahid Durrani as its candidate for NA-35 Bannu-by-election, after refusal of JUIF and MMA chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman to contest against a seat vacated by Imran Khan.
BANNU, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Aug, 2018 ) :Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has nominated Zahid Durrani as its candidate for NA-35 Bannu-by-election, after refusal of JUIF and MMA chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman to contest against a seat vacated by Imran Khan.
MMA Bannu Chapter informed that Zahid Durrani would submit his nomination papers with the Returning Officer (RO) on August 29 (Wednesday). Imran Khan has defeated Akram Khan Durrani of MMA from the constituency in July 25 July general elections.
Zahid Durrani is son of opposition leader in KP Assembly and former Federal minister Akram Khan Durrani.
Zahid Durrani was defeated by PTI candidate Pakhtun Yar Khan on PK-88 constituency in the general elections 2018.
Fazl ur Rehman of JUIF has refused to contest the by-election on the seat vacated by Imran Khan, informed the credible sources in MMA. The Maulana flatly refused the leaders of the religious ally to contest a left over seat of PTI chairman.
It merits a mention here that Imran Khan secured 113822 votes as against his rival candidate Akram Khan Durrani who bagged 106820 votes in the general elections 2018.
The party sources said that Akram Khan who secured more than one lac vote also refused to contest on the left over seat of Imran Khan and he opted for retaining his provincial assembly seat which he also won with a verythin margin against PTI candidate Adnan Wazir.
