Montessori Classes To Be Started In All Public Sector Primary Schools: Marriyum

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Mar, 2017 ) : Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb Wednesday said montessori classes would be started in all public sector Primary schools under the Prime Minister Education Reforms Programme.
Addressing a news conference along with Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and MNA Maiza Hameed, she said montessori classes had already been started in 11 schools of the federal capital, while the facility would be provided in all primary schools phase-wise.
She said quality of education and improved facilities in 422 educational institutions of the Federal Capital were being provided under the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Marriyum Aurangzeb said all educational institutions would be equipped with modern and science laboratories for which a PC-I was being prepared.
Under the education reforms, the minister said, a programme for teachers' training had been initiated for their capacity building and to equip them with modern trends of imparting education. She said updates on the PM's Education Reforms Programme would be shared with media every month as the government was giving great importance to the education sector.
The minister said buses were being provided to all schools to mitigate transport problems of the students. In her opening remarks, Marriyum Aurangzeb paid tributes to all Pakistani women including Fatima Jinnah and Benazir Bhutto who contributed significantly in development of the country.
She also paid tributes to the mothers of the martyrs of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, who laid their lives to safeguard the motherland and eliminate the menace of terrorism. Minister of Sate for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said educational institutions of the federal capital would be made a role model for other public schools operating across the country.
Currently, he said, upgradation of 22 schools had already been completed under the PM Education Reforms Programme by equipping them with modern and basic facilities including transport, drinking water and improved security system.
He said 60 buses had also been handed over to educational institutions for transportation of students, while the process to hand over 10 more were underway. In next phase, Dr Tariq said 200 schools would be upgraded for which the Prime Minister had approved the required funds and expressed confidence that the task would be completed within current fiscal year.
He said 130 more buses and 30 coasters were being purchased for which tenders would be floated shortly, adding that Rs 1.5 billion were being spent to provide transport facility. Whereas, another PC-I for 200 remaining schools was being prepared, he added.
Maryam Nawaz, he said, was taking keen interest in the education reforms programme and playing an exemplary role in its implementation so that younger generation could get quality education and compete the contemporary world. APP/ma-sha/ahn
