PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2025) Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engr Amir Muqam on Saturday reiterated strong support for the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination and the historic decision to accede to Pakistan.
In a special message on the occasion of day of accession to Pakistan, Amir Muqam highlighted the significance of the day, saying that 19th July 1947 was a decisive turning point in the history of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, when a unanimous resolution was passed to accede to Pakistan, based on religious, cultural, and geographical affiliations.
He said, “despite fighting three wars with India, Pakistan has always maintained its principled stance for a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
”
Amir Muqam strongly condemned the decades-long Indian military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a blatant violation of the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people.
“India’s continued oppression and ongoing human rights violations have not weakened the spirit of the Kashmiri people, but rather strengthened their resolve to join Pakistan.”
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to continue providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until they achieve their right to self-determination as per UNSC resolutions.
“On this historic day, we pay tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and assured them that Pakistan will never abandon their cause,” he added.
