A man who killed three persons during a Jirga in Mardan in 2003 was hanged in District Jail Haripur on Thursday

PESHAWAR,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Feb, 2018 ) :A man who killed three persons during a Jirga in Mardan in 2003 was hanged in District Jail Haripur on Thursday. Police said the convicted murderer, Saiful islam had killed three men during a Jirga at Mardan in 2003 and the Sessions Court Mardan had awarded him death penalty on three counts.

The convict had filed a mercy appeal before the High Court and Supreme Court, however both the courts had rejected his appeal and upheld the judgment of the Sessions Court. The convict, Saiful Islam was today hanged to death in District Jail Haripur. The officials of prison handed over the body to heirs after legal formalities.
