PESHAWAR, Sept 18 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Sep, 2017 ) : The politicians of mainstream political parties of KP on Monday termed the landslide victory of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz from NA 120 by-election as overwhelming confidence of masses in the leadership and policies of Pakistan Muslim League-N.

Talking to APP, MPA Saleh Muhammad said people of NA-120 has rejected politics of agitation, confrontation, accusation and once again reposed full confidence in the policies of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

He said people wanted solution of their problems and PML-N was the only party, which can address masses' problems. PML-N has once again obtained trust of people and stood victorious in the people's court with a thumping majority despite all odds and propaganda against Sharif's family.

PML-N won the by election NA-120 despite its central leadership including former premier and his spouse was in London and had not participated in the electioneering whereas the PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other stalwarts addressed the rallies and public meetings in the by-election.

He said PMLN won the seat despite being not provided level playing field and whole campaign was run by her daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif who proved her ability to become political heir of former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

"The landslide victory of Kulsoom Nawaz has proved that PML-N was the most popular party of the country with strong roots in masses and would get easy triumph in 2018 general elections on the basis of its record development works," PMLN Parliamentary leader in KP, Sardar Aurangzaib Nalota claimed.

"Winning election in cities was much difficult than in rural areas and PML-N has regained its 120-seat in Lahore with ease," he said, adding whereas PTI had lost by election to PML-N in PK 8 in Peshawar.

The people of Peshawar were dying of dengue virus while PTI Chairman has priorities other than addressing chronic problems facing people in KP, he said. ANP central leader and former minister, Wajid Ali Khan said his party always stood for promotion of democratic process and the success of PML-N in Lahore was testimony to this fact.

The ANP had withdrawn its candidate in favour of PML-N in NA 120 Lahore, he said, adding it was a traditional seat of PML-N which it was winning for the last 12 elections. He congratulated Kulsoom Nawaz over the victory and expressed confidence that she would play her constructive role in the parliament aiming at promotion of democracy, supremacy of constitution and resolution of people's problems.
