According to the results announced by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidate won in NA-79 Gujranwala-l constituency with 142545 votes.

In 2013 general elections, Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidate CHOUDHRY MUHAMMAD SHAHBAZ BABAR was elected as Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) with 118516 votes. The second runner up was Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate KHALID ABDULLAH GHAZI who got 22420 votes.

At least 23 candidates from different political parties and independent candidates contested in NA-79. In 2013 elections, there were 335868 voters registered in NA-79, out of which 190941 votes were polled out.
