NA Body On Human Rights Meets

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Oct, 2016 ) : National Assembly Standing Committee on Human Rights held its 14th meeting on Thursday under the chairmanship of Babar Nawaz Khan, MNA.
The Committee considered "The Women in Distress and Detention Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2016" (Amendment of section 6, Act XV of 1996) (Government Bill) in detail. However, keeping in view the volume/length of the Bill, the Committee decided to defer the Bill till upcoming meeting.
The Committee reviewed "The National Commission on the Status of Women (Amendment) Bill, 2016" {Amendment of sections 4 & 8, Act VIII of 2012}, moved by Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, MNA in detail.
Thereafter, the Committee recommended that the aforementioned Bill be passed without amendments.
The Committee reviewed the existing law of Human Organ Transplant Authority (HOTA) in detail and recommended/proposed certain amendments therein. The members of the committee and mover Sayed Essa Nori, Ms.
Farhana Qamar, Ms. Surriya Asghar, Ms. Kiran Haider, Ms. Asiya Naz Tanoli, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Dr. Shazia Sobia, Ms. Musarat Rafique Mahesar, Ms. Aliya Kamran Murtaza, Mrs. Naseema Hafeez Panezai and Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, attended the meeting besides senior officers of the concerned Ministries and departments.
