NA Body On Parliamentary Affairs Meets

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jan, 2020 ) :National Assembly Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs on Wednesday proposed further deliberations on The Elections (Amendment) Bill, 202 (Section 206 and 208).
The committee meeting which was held under the chairmanship of Mujahid Ali after detailed deliberations deferred The Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2020" (Section 206 and 208) with the recommendation to write a letter to the leaders of all the political parliamentary parties for giving their suggestions to increase the quota of the women seats.
The committee also recommended to defer two bills regarding "The Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2019" (Section 104) and "The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2020" (Article 140A) on the requests of the movers of the bills for its next meeting.
The committee confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting which was held on October 11, 2019.
Compliance on the comprehensive report and implementation status of the previous recommendations of the committee was given verbally by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
The Joint Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs informed the committee that the administration of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Center, Lahore has agreed in this respect to convene a meeting. The committee decided to hold a meeting and visit there after incoming session.
The meeting was attended by MNAs Junaid Akbar, Ms Rukhsana Naveed, Mst Shaheen Naz Saifullah, Ms Zille Huma, Ms Fouzia Behram, Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Mahesh Kumar Malani, Ms Shamsun Nisa, Ms Shagufta Jumani, Moulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and a mover of the Bill, Ms Noreen Farooq Khan.
