
NA Passes Council For Science And Technology Bill

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Nov, 2016 ) : National Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a bill for constitution of Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST), "the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology Bill 2016." The 25-clause bill was moved to the House by Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid.
Briefing the House about this bill, the minister said, Pakistan Council for Science and Technology is involved in policymaking, planning, implementation and carrying out policy studies.
He said after the passage of the bill, this organization will provide a forum for coordination to science and technology with national and international agencies and identification of priority subjects with reference to their bearing on socio-economic development and national security.
It was also informed to the House that PCST was established through a resolution and is mandated to advise the government on development of science and technology at national level. APP/az-sra/adn
