NAB Arrested 503 Accused For Corrupt Practices During Last Year

ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Nov, 2018 ) :The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has apprehended some 503 accused involved in corrupt practices and filed 440 references in different accountability courts during the last year.
This was stated during a meeting chaired by NAB Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal here at the headquarters, which reviewed progress into 179 mega corruption cases.
The meeting was told that out of 179, references had been filed in accountability courts in 105 cases, 15 were at inquiry stage and 19 at investigation stage, while 40 had been disposed of, a NAB press release said.�The press release said some 1,206 references of Rs 900 billion corruption were being heard by different accountability courts.
The meeting was told that NAB had approved verification of 1,317 complaints, 877 inquiries and 227 investigations during the last year.
