NAB Arrests Five Accused After Dismissal Of Their Pre-arrest Bail

ISLAMABAD, Jan 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Jan, 2017 ) : National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Tuesday arrested five accused namely Ali Dino Gahoti EDO (Revenue), Aslam Lund, DO, (Revenue), Gulshair Ahmad Solangi DDO (Revenue), District Ghotki alongwith Kashif Ayaz Rana and Asif Ayaz Rana, officials of Revenue Department after dismissal of their pre-arrest bail by the Supreme Court.

The accused during the settlement of land for Raine Canal Project, illegally restored old land grants, revise defaulted grants into allotments, made illegal payments and caused loss to the national exchequer to the tune of Rs 493.

654 million, said a NAB press release.

The Special Prosecutor NAB argued about the distinct roles played by the each accused/official and referred the documents which fully connected the accused persons with the commissions of offence and requested the court that accused persons were not entitled for the extraordinary concession of pre-arrest bail.

The Supreme Court agreed with the arguments and dismissed the pre-arrest bail petitions. The accused persons will be presented before the respective Accountability Court in Sukkur accordingly.
