NAB Devises Comprehensive Strategy To Eradicate Corruption: Chairman

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Nov, 2018 ) :NAB Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal Wednesday said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had devised a comprehensive strategy to completely eradicate the menace of corruption from roots.
Justice Javed Iqbal, in a statement, the elimination of corruption was not only NAB's national duty but also the top most priority.
He said NAB has expedited its efforts to nab the proclaimed offenders whereas corrupt elements involved in mega corruption cases would be dragged in the dock.
He said NAB was investigating different cases on priority basis including cheating people, committing bank fraud and default, abuse of authority, money laundering and looting national exchequer.
He said NAB has devised an effective method of conducting complaint verifications, inquiries and investigations of corruption cases by using collective wisdom of its supervisory staff. This has improved the performance of NAB, besides blocking influence on investigations of NAB.
He said NAB has established a fully equipped digital forensic laboratory, having the facility of analyzing various documents and finger prints, said a press release.
He said Transparency International has ranked Pakistan 116th position in corruption perception index. NAB occupying the position of role model in South Asian country due to effective anti corruption measures, which is great success of the country.
He said Transparency International, Independent National and International Watchdog, Pildat and recent Gallup survey and International Economic Forum have lauded Pakistan's efforts of corruption elimination.
He said NAB was the first chairman of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Anti Corruption Forum, which is a great achievement. NAB has also inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China for cooperating in anti corruption endeavours. This agreement will help building mutual confidence in the context of ongoing projects of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he said.
He said NAB was planning to ink such another MoU with Malaysia after approval of the government.
