NAB to file reference against Mehtab Ahmed Khan for misuse of power

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) would file of corruption reference against former Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Mehtab Ahmed Khan, ex Secretary Aviation Division Irfan Elahi, former Chairman, PIAC, Musharaf Rasool, Muhammad Ali Tabba and others

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th March, 2019) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) would file of corruption reference against former Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Mehtab Ahmed Khan, ex Secretary Aviation Division Irfan Elahi, former Chairman, PIAC, Musharaf Rasool, Muhammad Ali Tabba and others.This was decided by the Executive Board Meeting of NAB that was held here on Thursday.

The Chairman NAB Justice (R) Javed Iqbal presided over the meetingFormer Advisor Mehtab Abbasi in connivance with Secretary Aviation at that time Irfan Elahi had appointed Musharaf Rasool as Chairman PIAC in violation of rules by sheer abuse of authority.

This inflicted significant losses to the national exchequer. The appointment of Musharaf Rasool had already been declared illegal by the Supreme Court.The board meeting also allowed NAB linking of complaint of suspicious transactions with the ongoing investigations against Agha Siraj Durrani, Speaker Sindh Assembly, Wasim Akhtar, Mayor, Karachi, Liaquat Ali Jatoi, former Federal Minister, and Nawab Muhammad Yousaf Talpur.The meeting has accord approval to file references, conduct investigations and inquiries against different personalities pertaining to corruption, resources beyond known income, abuse of authority and inflicting phenomenal losses to national kitty,The inquiries, investigations were being initiated on alleged allegations and therefore the allegations must not be considered as final.

The final decision about initiating proceedings will be taken after knowing the point of view of both sides as per law.

The NAB's Executive Board Meeting has approved conducting two inquiries against Ghulam Muhammad, former Secretary Communication and Works Department, Balochistan and officers, officials of Provincial Highway Division, District Sanghar, Sindh and others.

The EBM authorized to conduct investigations against Asghar Sheikh, former Director General (DG) Larkana Development Authority and others.Likewise, the meeting approved filing of three corruption references against Haji Gulzar Khan, former Health Minister, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muhammad Zamurrad Khan, and former Conservator, Gilgit Forest Department, Haji Nadim Khan, Abdul Samad, Muhammad Qasim, Principal Medical Officer and others.

They have been accused of illegally issuing passes to seven contractors allowing them cutting forests and not receiving any fine by abusing their authority thus inflicting Rs 45.73 million losses to the national exchequer.The board has authorized to file another corruption reference against Kamran Ali Qureshi, former Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Asad Munir, and former Estate Member, CDA, Khalid Mehmood, former Director Estate and others.

They have been accused for illegal restoration of a plot situated at F-11 by misusing their authority inflicting heavy losses to the national kitty.The meeting approved closing of inquiry against Dost Muhammad Rahimmo, former Provincial Minister for Zakat and Usher, Sindh, and others due to lack of incriminating evidence.
