Nasir Shah Refutes Allegations Of Negligence During Census

The Sindh Minister for Information and Labour Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has refuted the allegations of the vested interests regarding negligence of Sindh Government during house and population census adding that these elements are trying to gain sympathies on the issue
HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Aug, 2017 ) : The Sindh Minister for Information and Labour Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has refuted the allegations of the vested interests regarding negligence of Sindh Government during house and population census adding that these elements are trying to gain sympathies on the issue.
The provincial government had already expressed its reservations at the initial stage of house and population census in Sindh and also demanded to provide the census forms likewise the authorized staff persons of Pakistan Army in order to review the data on daily basis and timely remove errors if any.
The minister expressed these remarks while talking to media persons after attending the ceremony of scholarship cheques distribution among the children of laborers under Workers Welfare board Sindh here at a local hotel on Tuesday.
The minister said the reservations of the provincial government we neither considered nor removed at that time. The Sindh Government would devise its policy on the issue after return of Sindh Chief Minister from Hujj, the minister informed and wondered that the provisional data of the census showed the population of Karachi as 14.9 million despite fact that the city has been ranked among most populous cities of the world.
To a question, the minister said that the PPP government fully believed to provide maximum facilities to journalists� community and launched various schemes for them.
Soon the provincial government would provide health cards and insurance facilities to journalists of the province, he assured.
Earlier, addressing the ceremony, the minister informed that provision of maximum facilities to workers community is the priority of the provincial government and on the directives of the Chairman PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the government had lunched numbers of schemes for them and their children.
The minister who is also the Chairman of Workers Welfare Fund Sindh, has said that under the fund, the syllabus and uniforms to children of workers were being provided in time and the government was to encourage the outstanding students by providing them scholarships.
The government would also allocatespecial seats in medical and engineering colleges anduniversities for children of workers community besides provision of better residential facilities, he assured.
The schools and hospitals of Labour Department are being upgraded with provision of state of the art facilities, he informed and added that the government has provided 18 ambulances to the hospitals. He advised the workers to register themselves in the Welfare Workers Fund so that they could avail facilities being provided by the government.
