National Accountability Bureau (NAB) KP Arrests Private Person For Alleged Embezzlement

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested accused Nawab Khan s/o Amir Zaman (private person) for alleged embezzlement of Rs. 340 million allocated for Housing Uniform Assistance Subsidy (HUASP) of the (Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Bajaur Agency
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2019 ) :National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested accused Nawab Khan s/o Amir Zaman (private person) for alleged embezzlement of Rs. 340 million allocated for Housing Uniform Assistance Subsidy (HUASP) of the (Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Bajaur Agency.
Under the Housing Uniform Assistance Subsidy Project the Government of Pakistan with the assistance of USAID had paid around 2.5 billion in Bajuar as compensation to IDPs whose houses have been damaged in the military operation against the miscreants, said a press release issued here on Friday.
Under the project Rs. 400,000/- were paid to each individual whose houses had been completely damaged, while Rs. 160,000/- were paid to owners of the partially damaged houses.
During the course of investigation, it was discovered that accused Nawab Khan with mala fide intentions in connivance with others prepared fake survey forms of ghost and ineligible affectees.
He allegedly included fake forms in the payment lists that were already prepared after survey conducted by Political Administration Bajaur Agency and got approved payment list containing such fake forms, causing huge loss of Rs. 340 Million to national exchequer.
Accused Nawab Khan had absconded legal proceedings since then. Case is under trial in accountability court. An Accountability Court has given him on 14 days remand to the NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It is worth mentioning here that Rs. 110 million have been recovered from other co-accused through plea bargain while Arshad Khan ex-DG FDMA and Irfan Ullah, ex- Assistant Director FDMA were previously arrested in the instant case and are currently on bail.
