National Assembly approves all 151 demands for grants of over Rs3.688 trillion, rejects all cut motions

With the approval of 23 demands for grants on Thursday, the National Assembly (NA) approved all 151 demands of grants of Rs3,688,809,981,000 relating to various divisions and their related departments during the fiscal year 2018-19

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2018 ) :With the approval of 23 demands for grants on Thursday, the National Assembly (NA) approved all 151 demands of grants of Rs3,688,809,981,000 relating to various divisions and their related departments during the fiscal year 2018-19.

Federal Finance Minister, Dr Miftah Ismail moved the demands for 151 grants to meet the expenditure during the next fiscal year 2018-19. The House rejected all the cut motions moved by opposition members against these demands while cut motions moved for some demands of grants were withdrawn by the opposition members.

On Thursday the house approved Rs331,000,000 for Industries and Production Division, Rs6,000,000 for Department of Investment Promotion and Supplies, Rs735,000,000 for Information and Broadcasting Division, Rs1,085,000,000 for National History and Literary Heritage Division, 831,000,000 for Interior Division, Rs8,444,000,000 for Islamabad, Rs2,752,000,000 for Passport Organization, Rs603,440,000,000 for Civil Armed forces, Rs8,920,000,000 for Frontier Constabulary and 1,994,000,000 for Pakistan Coast Guards.

The house also approved Rs1,907,000,000 for Inter Provincial Coordination, Rs371,000,000 for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Division, Rs555,000,000 for Law and Justice Division, Rs2,672,000,000 for Narcotics Control Division, Rs1,341,000,000 for Overseas Pakistan and Human Resource Development Division, Rs580,000,000, Costal Services Division, Rs18,583,663,000 for Pakistan Post Office Department, Rs166,000,000 for Privatization Division, Rs86,500,000,000 for Pakistan Railways, Rs25,505,000,000 for Federal Administered Tribal Areas, Rs2,357,000,000for Statistics Division and Rs236,000,000 for Water Resources Division.

The, the previous day, the house approved Rs263,000,000 demands of grants for Cabinet, Rs6,343,000,000 for Cabinet Division, and also approved Rs276,000,000 for emergency relief and repatriation for which the opposition had withdrawn all the cut motions.

The house also approved Rs6,207,000,000 for other expenditure of Cabinet Division, Rs97,000,000 for Aviation Division, Rs21,294,000,000 for Capital Administration and Development Division, Rs2,734,000,000 for Establishment Division, Rs636,000,000 for Federal Public Service Commission, Rs2,138,000,000 for other expenditure of Establishment Division, Rs986,000,000 for Prime Minister's Office, Rs272,000,000 for board of Investment, Rs70,000,000 Prime Minister's Inspection Commission, Rs9,412,000,000, for Atomic Energy Rs14,741,438,000 for Development Expenditure of Cabinet Division and Rs614,000,000 for Climate Change.

After withdrawal of cut motions, the house approved Rs432,000,000 for Textile Division, Rs7,663,000,000 for Communications Division, Rs14,480,848,000 for development expenditure of Communications Division and Rs1,687,000,000 for Defence Division.

The National Assembly also approved, Rs245,000,000 for Power Division, Rs 377,000,000 for Petroleum Division, Rs98,000,000 for other expenditures of petroleum division, Rs1,809,000,000 for Finance Division, Rs5,887,000,000 for Controller General of Accountant and Rs563,190,000,000 for subsidies and miscellaneous expenditures.

In addition, Rs65,000,000,000 have been approved for Higher education Commission, Rs5,296,000,000 for Economic Affairs Division, Rs378,000,000 for Revenue Division, Rs4,419,000,000 for Federal Board of Revenue, Rs8,088,000,000 for Customs, Rs120,138,000 for development expenditure of Economic Affairs Division, Rs1,523,999,000 for Foreign Affairs Division and Rs14,457,000,000 for Foreign Affairs, Rs160,000,000, Housing and Works Division, Rs3,800,259,000 for Civil Works, 160,000,000 for Housing and Works Division and Rs3800,259,000 for civil works.

In addition, the house approved Rs6,275,000,000 for Meteorology Rs1,235,000,000 and for National Security Division Rs51,000,000, Stationery and Printing Rs113,000,000, Commerce Division Rs4,912,000,000, Communication Division Rs3,507,000,000, Survey of Pakistan Rs1,322,000,000, Federal Government Educational Institutions and Cantonment and Garrisons Division Rs5,717,000,000.

Similarly for Defence Services, it approved Rs1,100,000,000,000, for Defence Production Division Rs698,000,000, Geological Survey of Pakistan Rs489,000,000, Federal Education and Professional Trainings Division Rs1,476,000,000, Pakistan MINT Rs602,000,000, National Savings Rs3,047,000,000, other expenditure of Finance Division Rs17,061,000,000, Superannuation Allowances and Pension Rs338,134,800,000, Grant in Aid and Miscellaneous Adjustments between the Federal and Provincial governments Rs92,500,000,000, Inland Revenue Rs13,335,000,000, other expenditure on Foreign Affairs Division Rs2,583,000,000, Estate Office Rs143,000,000, Federal Lodges Rs100,000,000, Other Expenditure of Industries and Production Division Rs936,000,000, Director of Publications, Newsreels and documentaries Rs331,000,000, Press Information Department RS725,000,000 and for Information Service Abroad it approved Rs807,000,000.
