HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Aug, 2024) Zahoor-ul-Hassan, the son of the late tailor Altaf Hussain who made the national flag under Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s orders, on Monday visited Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) CEO office and called on CEO HESCO Muhammad Roshan Otho and presented him the national flag as a gift.

According to a statement issued by HESCO spokesperson, Zahoor-ul-Hassan's gesture was warmly appreciated by CEO Muhammad Roshan Otho.

He expressed his heartfelt thanks and remarked that it was a great honour for him. He emphasized the importance of remembering national heroes who contributed to the creation of Pakistan.

Master Altaf Hussain was a tailor, and on June 3, 1947 he was ordered by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Delhi, to create the national flag, which he prepared quickly and presented to Quaid-e-Azam, who greatly admired and approved it.

After the creation of Pakistan, Master Altaf Hussain’s family settled in the Sarfraz Colony of Hyderabad.

He passed away in 1967, and was buried in Karachi. Zahoor-ul-Hassan was his only son.

During the visit, Zahoor-ul-Hassan also distributed badges to HESCO officials in celebration Independence Day, while, the CEO HESCO presented him with a Sindhi ajrak, traditional Sindhi cap and bouquet.
