National Highways and Motorway Police foils an attempt to smuggle 68 kg narcotics, two suspects arrested

National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Friday arrested two suspects by foiling an attempt to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics including 34 kilogram Chars and 34 kilogram opium at M-2 near Chakri.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Aug, 2018 ) :National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Friday arrested two suspects by foiling an attempt to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics including 34 kilogram Chars and 34 kilogram opium at M-2 near Chakri.

According to a press release, the motorway police stopped a suspicious car bearing number LZF-312 near Chakri at around 10:00 am but driver of the car speeded-up the car.

Two persons in the vehicle tried to run away but the police arrested both them namely Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Zain residents of Lahore.

During the checking, the police recovered 34 kilogram Chars and 34 kilogram opium from the secret boxes of the said vehicle.

The arrested suspects along with the recovered narcotics were handed over to the Chauntra police station, Rawalpindi.

DIG Motorways Ashfaq Ahmed and SSP North Jamil Ahmed Hashmi appreciating the officers for taking timely action, announced cash prize and appreciation certificates for the police officials.
