LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Sep, 2018 ) :Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday permitted a three-day extension in the parole of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (Retd) Muhammad Safdar to attend the last rituals of late Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, who passed away in a London hospital on Tuesday.
Chief minister's spokesperson Rafiullah told APP that the chief minister had given his assent for extension in the parole on a summary moved by the Home Department in the wake of special circumstances.
"A summary was moved by the Home Department for three days extension in the parole of the Sharif family members, which has been duly approved by the chief minister," he said.
The Home Department would issue a notification in that regard, he added.
It may be added that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had requested the Punjab Home Secretary for a 5-day parole of his imprisoned family members. The Home Secretary allowed 12-hour parole under the Pakistan Prisons Rules 1978. The Home Department, however, on Wednesday put up the summary to the chief minister for three-day extension in the parole, which was duly approved.
