Nawaz Sharif Released From Adiala Jail

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2018 ) :Former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Mohammad Safdar , jailed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on July 6 in the Avenfield corruption reference were released after the Islamabad High Court order, a prison official in Adiala Jail confirmed here on Wednesday.
The accountability court on July 6 had announced the verdict in the Avenfield property corruption reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau, handing the ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif 10 years jail term for owning assets beyond known sources of income and one year for not cooperating with NAB.
Earlier, an IHC division bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb suspended the prison sentence. The sentences would remain suspended until the final judgment on their appeals.
