NCHD Marks Literacy Day

To mark the International Literacy Day, the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) under the aegis of Literacy Department Bahawalpur, arranged a seminar here Wednesday.

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Sep, 2018 ) :To mark the International Literacy Day, the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) under the aegis of Literacy Department Bahawalpur, arranged a seminar here Wednesday.

This Day is celebrated globally on September 8 every year.

The seminar was chaired by Asif Raheem, Divisional Emergency Officer Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Bahawalpur and was attended by dignitaries from different walks of life including elected representatives, educationists, civil society members, students, volunteers and NCHD staff members.

Addressing the seminar, Asif Raheem commended the NCHD efforts in the field of literacy and highlighted that NCHD has made about thousands people literate. He said education is basic right of the people and also it plays role of an eye to make the future brighten. He said that parents should give attention towards their children for education to compete the world.
