Need stressed for promoting Pakistan-Saudi Arabia bilateral trade

A three-member delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) on Tuesday visited Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to discuss the possibilities of further improving Pakistan's trade ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Islamabad, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2018) : A three-member delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) on Tuesday visited Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to discuss the possibilities of further improving Pakistan's trade ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The delegation led by Senior Vice President ICCI, Muhammad Naveed Malik comprised Muhammad Faheem Khan and Muhammad Ashfaq Chatha. The delegation met with Acting Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah, Shaiq Ahmed Bhutto, who welcomed the delegates and appreciated their efforts to explore Saudi market which was under transformation led by Vision 2030.

Speaking on the occasion, Shaiq Ahmed Bhutto said that Saudi Arabia was vigorously looking for new ventures and international companies for business collaboration with Saudi firms. He stressed that a full-fledged delegation of ICCI should visit Saudi Arabia in near future to explore new avenues of further strengthening trade and economic relations and assured of full cooperation from the Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah in such efforts.

The Trade Development Officer Fahad Chaudhry from Commercial Section of the Consulate briefed the ICCI delegation about the emerging opportunities in Saudi Arabia.

He highlighted the products which were imported in Saudi Arabia in huge quantity like food products, meat, fish, institutional textiles, Ihram towels, auto parts & light machinery etc.

He said these products could be replaced with Pakistani products by devising a special strategy for Saudi Arabia. Speaking at the occasion, SVP ICCI Muhammad Naveed Malik said that the ICCI in collaboration with Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah would like to formulate a chart of joint activities for trade promotion with Saudi Arabia.

He assured that ICCI would try to form another delegation for visit Saudi Arabia in September 2018 consisting of exporters of potential sectors having good demand in Saudi Arabia like food products, textiles, fashion garments, engineering products, surgical instruments and sports good.

The delegation presented a souvenir to the Consulate General of Pakistan Jeddah as a memorandum and thanked for giving them warm reception.
