New Islamabad Airport Building Feared To Collapse, Custom Officials Refuse To Work

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th December, 2018) The Custom officials have refused to work at the New Islamabad International Airport.
The building of New Islamabad Airport is feared to collapse any moment which can cause a loss of human lives.
Media report said that in view of the dilapidated condition of the new airport, the custom officials have refused to work there.
The custom employees demanded that the building of the airport be changed, only then will they do their duty.
The protesting officials said that they wrote two letters to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) but they did not get any reply.
The CAA officials visited the airport several times but did not take any measures to avoid any untoward incident, they added.
The new airport in the capital has been built with several security covers including sirens built with motion sensors as well as Airport Security Force, Rangers and the police personnel stationed at the grounds.
Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had inaugurated New Islamabad International Airport on May 1. The construction of the airport was completed after 13 years.
Despite being declared a world class facility, there are often reports of mismanagement at the airport.
