Next Finance Minister Will Inherit A Tough Job: Asad Umar

Asad Umar reassured that we are going towards betterment, given some tough decisions are taken.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th April, 2019) Asad Umar announced to step down as Finance Minister on Thursday in a cabinet reshuffle.
He said that this reshuffle was brought up with him for the first time last night.
While addressing a press conference after stepping down from cabinet does, he said, "Me stepping down does not mean I will not support Imran Khan’s Naya Pakistan."
He said that the incoming finance minister will be handed over a tough job as the economy is in a bad shape.
Asad Umar reassured that we are going towards betterment, given some tough decisions are taken.
"We are going into an IMF programme and the next budget will present that programme. It is important to immediately implement it. It will be a difficult budget," he said.
We have finalised with the IMF on much better terms, he added.
I had only come to contribute to the country's economy. I don't know if there has been any conspiracy against him, he responded to a question.
He further said, "Pakistan's finance minister is dependant on 21 crore people of the country. When I had a choice between an uncertainty of two to three months or hurting the people of Pakistan, I chose the former."
Asserting that he is not leaving the party, he said, "I still believe in Naya Pakistan and Imran Khan."
This seven-year journey with the PTI has been amazing, he said.
Asad Umar also thanked the PTI supporters, especially youth, who supported the party throughout.
