NHA Taking Measures For Safe Travelling In South Punjab

Federal Secretary for Communications Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has paid a comprehensive visit to the portion of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar national highway (N-5) situated in Southern Punjab to check ongoing activities for ensuring safe travelling on the highway
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2019 ) :Federal Secretary for Communications Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has paid a comprehensive visit to the portion of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar national highway (N-5) situated in Southern Punjab to check ongoing activities for ensuring safe travelling on the highway.
The General Manager, National Highway Authority (NHA) Punjab-South informed him in detail about the measures taken to improve the highway, said a press release issued here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said that Karachi Lahore - Peshawar National Highway was key source of communications in the country from north to south and it was playing an important role in the economic development of the country.
He maintained that to make journey on this highway situated in the South Punjab, safe and sound was one of their priorities.
He said, NHA's maintenance unit Multan has installed information signboards at six points besides speed limit signs on the highway.
Similarly, at some other points signboards and U-turns have also been provided. Repair work on 140Km in Multan unit, 85Km in Bahwalpur unit and 10 km in Rahim Yar Khan Unit has been completed.
Likewise steps are underway to improve the management system at Toll Plazas there. Secretary Communications also informed that plantation and activities relating to keep the highway clean are also in progress.
Earlier, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui visited Hyderabad Bypass and reviewed work of installation of light poles and plantation.
