Nitrogen, Phosphatic Fertilizers Production Grew By 15.75, 8.2%

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Augst,2016) : The production of nitrogen fertilizers witnessed 15.57 percent increase during eleven months of financial year, 2015-16 as compared the corresponding period of last year. During the period from July-May, 2015-16 about 2,745,115 tons of nitrogen fertilizer were produced as compared to the production of 2,382, 990 tons of same period of last year. The production of nitrogen fertilizer during the month of May, 2016 was recorded at 241,043 tones as compared to the production of 218,574 tones of same month of last year. On month on month basis, the nitrogen fertilizer production registered about 10.28 percent increase,said the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Meanwhile, the production of phosphatic fertilizer had also registered 8.2 percent increase during the period under review as compared the same period of last year. During eleven months of last financial year, about 507,819 tones of phosphatic fertilizer were produced as compared to the production of 507,678 metric tons. However, on month on month basis, the production of phosphatic fertilizers decreased by 12.88 percent in month of May, 2016 as compared to same month of last year. During the period under review domestic cement production also witnessed 10.75 percent increase it was recorded at 32,451 thousand tons as compared the production of 29,300 thousand tons of same period of last year.
