NMU Marks World Diabetes Day

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2018 ) ::The Nishtar Medical University (MNU) observed the World Diabetes Day to sensitze the mass about the fast growing disease.

Endocrinology Unit of the NMU arranged a ceremony in this connection at Hayat Zafar Auditorium here on Wednesday.

Various pharmaceutical companies set up stalls wherein different tests including fast, random sugar, Cholesterol and feet inspection were conducted which were free of charge.

A question hour session was also held in which patients who poured from far and wide of the city posed their queries about diabetes to a panel of doctors of NMU.

Speaking on the occasion, NMU Vice Chancellor, Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha underscored the importance of prevention and cure of diabetes.

Family and the Diabetes was the theme of day this year, he said adding that:" The disease runs in families, therefore, we should take care of our dear and near ones".

He stated that :" Timely diagnoses, treatment, diet and exercise could save us from its allied problems, including blood pressure and heart ailments." He urged the masses to change their life style to stay healthy.

Dr Ghulam Mustafa, Dr Salam Tanvir and others also spoke.

Earlier, a walk was also held from Nishtar hospital main gate to clock tower participated by doctors, nurses and paramedics.
