NMU Syndicates Meets, Approves Agenda Items

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2018 ) :Nishtar Medical University ( NMU) Syndicate met under the chairmanship of provincial minister for specialised health and medical education, Khawaja Salman Rafiq here at varsity's conference room on Monday.
The meeting approved several agenda items including following of King Edward Medical University rules, minutes of last meeting, statues for teaching and supporting staff, varsity's registration, PIDSA payment, Rs three million for waste collection, internal phone exchange, internet working etc.
Besides Acting VC Dr Ahmad Ejaz Masood, PML parliamentarians Rana Tahir Shabbir, Mazhar Abbas Raan, Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha, Dr Sami Akhtar, MS Nishtar hospital Dr Abur Rehan and others attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Salman Rafiq said that revolutionary steps taken by Punjab government in health sector were bearing fruits with masses were benefiting. He informed that government had extended best health facilities at Basic and Rural health centres along with big public hospitals in the province.
Government is also considering to pay the same structure of salaries to faculty of public sector medical varsities which private medical colleges are paying to its faculty, the minister stated adding that according to HEC rules, papers were also being prepared for medical teaching faculty.
He shed light on number of steps initiated for betterment of medical education under incumbent government.
